About Singapore
Singapore, one of the busiest cities in South East Asia, and possibly Asia, is a small island at the southern tip of Malaysia. Despite its size, it has exploded in recent years economically. This has also brought up many changes to the island state.
In recent years, Singapore has added a lot of places to visit and things to do on the island. The most important inclusion recently would be Resort World Sentosa, which is a casino resort with hotels within. It has Universal Studios Singapore, which has the casino, theme parks, offers rides and also houses the world's largest oceanarium!
There is also the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel which is set to become one of Asia's most visible icons. This is on top of the normal attractions like the Singapore Zoological Gardens, Jurong Birdpark, Sentosa (other parts of the island not occupied by the Resort World) and many more.
Do take to the streets and explore. Singapore offers more than just these. Head down to Little India and Chinatown, visit the Malay Village. At the western part of the island, there is even a Snow City! There are many things to do and see in Singapore.
Shopping is undeniably one of Singapore's major attractions. The world famous Orchard Road is a long shopping belt filled with shopping malls. Recent additions to the belt includes ION Orchard and Orchard Central. You will be spoilt for choice! There are huge selection of anything you can imagine, and almost every major brands around the world are represented there.
Food is the local's favourite past-time, and is definitely the visitors' delight. From 5-star meals to local hawker food fare, you just need to name it, you will find them in Singapore. Do try the famous Chicken Rice, Ba Kut Teh (soup with pork), Fried Kway Teow and Satay.
Staying at a Singapore hotel could be expensive though. Hotel room rates in Singapore ranges from SGD70 to over SGD2,500. As Singapore is a relatively small island where you can get from the east to the west in less than an hour by car, it is not recommended to select your Singapore hotel based on just the location you are heading to.
