    * Victory Monument

    Victory Monument is a prominent military monument located within the Ratchathewi district. It lies on the north-eastern side of Bangkok and is the centrepiece of an enormous roundabout. Constructed in 1941, this much-loved local landmark consists of a tall obelisk surrounded at the base by a number of military statues, commemorating Thailand's victory in a war with Indo-China.

    Wat Pho is the biggest and most historic 'wat' temple in the whole of Bangkok.     The JJ Market, or Chatuchak Market, is paradise for bargain hunters. Every Saturday and Sunday, 9,000 individual booths are open selling an infinite variety of goods. Most vendors actually come from local factories, like antique wood carving, clay handicrafts, local souvenirs from every parts of Thailand, Buddhist amulets, wooden furniture, handmade decorated flowers and plants, ceramic wares and dolls, Thai Benjarong: ceramic wares, Chinese wares, garden decorated plants and stones, trendy fashions, silk, hill-tribe outfits, fluffy dogs, colorful fishes, birds and more miscellaneous.

    * Pratunam

    Pratunam is one of the older shopping areas in Bangkok that has a highly-deserved reputation among bargain shoppers. It is a major wholesale center for the garment trade located on the side of Thailand's tallest building, the Baiyok Tower. There are several shops on the main road but the real activity is in the market hidden behind the stalls and shops. Here you'll find a huge variety of low cost clothes, fashion accessories, shoes, watches, electronic gadgets and all sorts of souvenirs. It is usually very congested as there are many eager shoppers looking for their bargains.

    * Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn)

    A stunning temple named after India's famous God of Dawn, Aruna, the Wat Arun can be found in the Thonburi city on the winding Mae Nam Chao Phraya River. The present building was constructed on the site of the 17th-century Wat Jaeng, a royal temple and palace, and was the last home of the iconic Emerald Buddha before it was moved to the Wat Phra Kaew, located across the river. The 82-metre / 269-foot 'prang' tower was built during the first part of the 19th century by both King Rama II and King Rama III.

    * Wat Benchamabophit (Wat Ben)

    Located at the corner of Th Phra Ram V and Si Ayuthaya, Wat Ben is standing proudly in central Bangkok. It was constructed from white Carrara marble and built during the latter part of the 19th century. Highlights include 53 images of Buddha in the courtyard area, a large contemporary cruciform 'bòt' and also the ashes of King Rama V, which reside at the base of the central Buddha image.

    MRT & Transport

    * Airport Rail Link

    The Airport Rail Link also called as Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail is a rapid transit line in Bangkok. The line provides as an airport rail link from Suvarnabhumi Airport, via Makkasan, to Phaya Thai station in central Bangkok. Most of the line is on a viaduct over the main eastern railway. Services consists of two Express Lines, a 15-minute nonstop service between the Makkasan city air terminal and the airport and an 18-minute nonstop service between Phaya Thai and the airport, and the City Line, a commuter rail service with 8 stations.

    * BTS Sky Train

    The Bangkok Mass Transit System, commonly known as the BTS Skytrain is an elevated rapid transit system in Bangkok, Thailand. The system consists of 32 stations along two lines: the Sukhumvit line running northwards and eastwards, terminating at Mo Chit and Bearing respectively, and the Silom line which plies Silom and Sathon Roads, the Central Business District of Bangkok, terminating at the National Stadium and Wongwian Yai. The National Stadium Station is one of the busiest stations.
