Bearing the title "The Pearl of the Indian Ocean," it cannot be questioned why Sri Lanka's international arrival is dramatically increasing. The island boasts of a flourishing nature reserve and a colorful history which can be dated back to over three thousand years.
Sri Lanka is basically famous for its lush rainforests and exquisite landscape which displays very rich biodiversity. Since Sri Lanka is a widely Buddhist country, world heritage sites relating to the religion can be found in the country. In Kandy, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth is situated. It is a Buddhist temple which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. In the Golden Cave of Dambulla in the central part of the country is also a tourist destination due to the religious significance it bears. Other heritage sites include the Lion's Rock in Matale, and the city of Anuradhapura.
To experience the urban Sri Lanka, tourists visit the city of Colombo. Being the commercial capital of the country, it houses skyscrapers displaying modern architecture. Lots of shopping malls, restaurants and Sri Lanka hotels are in the city.
