    Kuching

Kuching is a mixture of modernity and tradition. It has the contemporary feel exuded by the spawning skyscrapers and foreign investments in the city, but it has managed to preserve its precious culture for the present settlers to enjoy.

In contrast to the beautiful skyline of Kuching viewed across the Sarawak River, it gives home to a lot of cultural sites. The historic Astana, the colorful Tua Pek Kong Temple, and the old Fort Margherita are just some of the attractions which serve as witnesses to the transformation of Kuching.

To fully understand the culture of Kuching locals, looking at the erected edifices is not enough. Experiencing their way of living is deemed necessary. It is for this reason why the Sarawak Cultural Village was established. Going to the village is like entering a portal to the old Malaysia - with its ethnic houses and unspoiled environment. There are also cultural presentations showcasing the old ways of living of the locals.

For nature and wildlife enthusiasts, places to visit are the Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and Kubah National Park.

To tourists who cannot resist the beauty of Kuching and prefer to stay in the city for a while, Kuching hotels are always ready to help. Top hotels in Kuching are the Pullman Kuching and the Hilton Kuching Hotel.
