Ho Chi Minh, or Saigon to most, is the largest city in Vietnam. It is also the city where most tourists flock to.
Visit Ho Chi Minh for its historical past. Do not miss the Reunification Palace (or Independence Palace), Ho-Chi-Minh Museum, War Remnants Museum, City Hall and Museum of Vietnamese History if you want to learn more about Vietnam and its people.
There are also some religious places like the Notre Dame Cathedral and Chinese temples like the Quan Am Pagoda. Have fun with the locals at The Saigon River and visit the Dai Nam Tourist Park.
Drop by the "Cho" or market for your shopping fix. There is a Night Market just outside Cho Ben Thanh which you should not miss. You will find loads of food and drinks, on top of being able to do your rounds of shopping.
There are simply too many places offering food and drinks. Try the local dishes, and do not miss the coffee if you are a coffee drinker! Vietnam is well known for its coffee!
